Who can be an NCS Volunteer?
NCS volunteers are ordinary people who want to help their neighbours.
There are no special qualifications. However, because many of the people that scheme supports are isolated and vulnerable, we take great care in the selection of our volunteers, all of whom go through an equal opportunities selection procedure, and have to provide references and undergo a Criminal Record Bureau check. Once accepted on the scheme, volunteers receive ongoing support and training.
